Vince Zampella, Dies in an LA Car Crash

The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in the state of California at the age of 55.

The tragic news was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.

The renowned industry figure lost his life when his automobile collided and was engulfed in flames on a highway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, those closest to him, and all those touched by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts said.
