The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Creators of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The newest Far Cry instalment that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for delighting in chaos and insanity with similar enthusiasm, all while telling gripping, politically driven narratives. It’s no surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry anthology series pulled in two creators whose work have embodied all of those elements.

What to Expect

Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game series, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' style by featuring a fresh backdrop and group of personalities in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently greenlit for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the showrunner.

“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX team continues to lift me up with their constant belief and backing.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone series. Every instalment is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” said Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always delving into the nature of society through this intricate and turbulent lens, is a ultimate goal. I’m thrilled to work with Rob and bring our shared unconventional, ambitious approach to the screen.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
