The Mighty Nein's Introductory Sequence Chose the Wrong Popular RPG Show Song

The Mighty Nein, the newest animated series by Critical Role, unveiled a new introductory sequence. It features the beloved cast of misfits, misfits, and criminals fighting hard and taking names, while teasing at several heart-wrenching backstories for characters such as Liam O'Brien's wizard Caleb, and Travis Willingham's orc warlock, the character Fjord.

All in all, the intro appears stunning. However, I felt that an element was missing in the song choice.

This sequence employs "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional composition composed by artist the talented musician. This piece from the soundtrack album of that title, the second release put out by Critical Role Productions LLC's music division their music brand. It's a great nostalgic option, and I believe that fans of the sequel series will love its presence.

But for me, The series' intro doesn't quite capture the hype and excitement that accompanied the show's live-play sessions. "Your Turn to Roll", composed by musician the artist, was an instant classic for me when it was initially unveiled in 2015, and it improved further when cast member Sam Riegel added lyrics to the tune for the series' animated intro in 2018.

Featuring vocals from one actress, another performer, a co-star, as well as Riegel himself, the song was catchy and fun. Back then, I hadn't even watched the follow-up series yet, but it was so infectious that I kept it on my phone. It's a song that knows how to get you pumped before you start an episode of adventurous fun.

The Mighty Nein's opening with "the new song" fails to hit the same chords for me. It's an impressive composition, but based on my understanding of this party, I feel that its mood is a little off.

Of course, Critical Role has already said that the animated show will have some changes and variations from the actual-play campaign. An adjusted mood for its opening appears as one of them.
