Loyal followers of the pop star are urging that a individual who breached a barricade and grabbed the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.
A circulating footage reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing camera operators and lunging at Grande while the actors made its way down a event pathway surrounded by onlookers.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the gathering by guards.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "released after being arrested", though official papers indicated that he was set to be present on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram account contains clips of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last year.
"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is clearly a punishable act," commented an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user wrote.
Numerous followers criticized Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the finale of her 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming hundreds.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote one more response on Instagram.
Some fans also criticised event staff at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals called for online networks to remove Mr Wen's uploads.
In clips shared widely, Grande seemed surprised when she was approached by the intruder. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by security.
Grande has not commented on the event, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.
Many of fans had gathered in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had waited for as long as many hours before it started.
The movie, to be released on November 21, is the sequel of a two-part adaptation of the popular stage show Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely friendship between two distinct sorceresses.
The production itself is a adaptation of the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a rosé glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.
They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and earned ten Academy Award nods, securing two for outstanding attire and production design.
