Raducanu advanced to round three in three out of four Grand Slam events during the season.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her remaining competitions in 2025 as a result of a medical condition she has been fighting in recent days.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to regain her health before starting plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training will involve coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together in 2026.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks while playing the initial match versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more medical attention at the Ningbo Open this week, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the final set in the match with Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has troubled her during parts of the season.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the top 30 globally for the first time for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

Raducanu won twenty-eight matches in the current season and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March.

The British number one advanced to the quarters of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament prior to a loss in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey as coach between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in in time for the US Open.

The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions in the coming months.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig joined her in New York, where she advanced to round three then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
