Assassin's Creed Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season

In a unexpected collaboration that defies traditional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Uncovered

According to the authorized statement, "An unusual meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where rumors of prohibited practices and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The storyline presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a hidden group.

The mission focuses on "strange experiments and a fearsome foe" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses

The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Additional Content

Players who finish the mission will obtain an unique katana alongside multiple objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Third Free Story Addition

This update also introduces the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
